[ The grumbling from the customers elbowed aside quickly dies down when they hear that explanation — some only recoil, others are more vocal about their sudden wariness towards the cafe's menu. Janlenoux masks his mounting dismay. Turning to the queasy customer before him, he regards her with some concern. ]
